About Me
About
Monique Norris has always been compelled to create art, since she was a young girl in St. Lucia and that has turned into a passionate career. Monique got her degree in fine art from Charlotte N.C. And has been living and working in NorthCarolina since 2014.She works in oil paint and oil pastels. She is influenced by her upbringing across St.Lucia and New Jersey that informs her colorful work. The Caribbean community proves an enduring topic for her work, mainly focused on parties and family functions and in a larger part her desire to capture fleeting moments. Her work focuses on portraiture, generally singular figures that she's caught in a moment alone. Some paintings are quiet and thoughtful while the larger jist of her work is colorful and sweet.
